Event Details

Have you ever missed Northern Vietnam through the delicate fragrance of lotus tea, the gentle melodies of Quan Ho folk singing, or the comforting flavors of a traditional family meal? You don't have to travel far to experience them. Right in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, Dem Bac Bo “TINH” at Ann Quan brings Northern Vietnamese culture and cuisine to life through traditional flavors, folk music, and time-honored customs of hospitality.

More than just a dinner, the event invites you on a cultural journey through Huong - Thanh - Vi - Sac (Aroma - Sound - Taste - Color), combining traditional folk performances, authentic Northern Vietnamese cuisine, and local delicacies that celebrate the region's rich heritage.

What Makes Dem Bac Bo “TINH” Special?

Inspired by the traditions and everyday life of Northern Vietnam, Dem Bac Bo “TINH” is thoughtfully designed by Ann Quan around five cultural experiences. Each one offers a glimpse into the customs, flavors, and artistic traditions that have shaped the region's identity.

1. Huong - Enjoy Lotus Tea and Discover Traditional Vietnamese Hospitality

Your journey begins with a fragrant cup of lotus tea, reflecting the long-standing tea-drinking traditions of Northern Vietnam.

You will also discover the cultural significance of betel chewing through trau tem canh phuong, the traditional art of folding betel leaves into elegant phoenix-wing shapes. This custom has long been associated with hospitality, social gatherings, and meaningful occasions in Vietnamese culture.

2. Thanh - Experience Traditional Northern Vietnamese Folk Music

The atmosphere of Dem Bac Bo “TINH” comes alive with the melodies of Quan Ho and Xam, two distinctive forms of folk music deeply rooted in Northern Vietnamese culture.

Quan Ho is known for its graceful, romantic melodies and traditional exchanges of songs, while Xam tells stories of everyday life through expressive vocals and rhythmic percussion.

At Ann Quan, you can enjoy these traditional performances while immersing yourself in a dining experience inspired by the cultural heritage of Northern Vietnam.

3. Vi - Savor a Traditional Northern Vietnamese Family Meal

One of the highlights of the evening is a traditional Northern Vietnamese meal featuring 5-6 regional dishes, carefully prepared according to the event's menu.

Inspired by the warmth of family gatherings, the shared meal brings people together around the table to enjoy familiar flavors, share stories, and spend quality time with one another.

Dishes are served according to the menu prepared for each session, offering guests an opportunity to discover the distinctive tastes of Northern Vietnamese cuisine in a traditional cultural setting.

4. Thuong Men - Discover Traditional Vietnamese Rice Wines and Fruit Liquors

Alongside the traditional meal, guests are introduced to a selection of Vietnamese rice wines and fruit liquors, including plum liquor, Nep Cai Hoa Vang rice wine, purple sticky rice wine, Tao Meo fruit liquor, and other regional specialties, depending on the event menu.

Each variety offers its own distinctive aroma and flavor, adding another dimension to the Northern Vietnamese dining experience.

Alcohol tasting is available only to guests aged 18 and above.

5. Sac - End the Evening with Traditional Northern Vietnamese Sweet Desserts

After enjoying the regional dishes and folk music performances, the experience concludes with a selection of traditional Northern Vietnamese sweet soups and desserts known as che.

These gently sweet treats provide a pleasant ending to the evening, leaving guests with a lasting impression of the flavors and cultural traditions of Northern Vietnam.
